she is a lesbian, radical feminist, cat lover, bibliophile, non-smoker, unitarian universalist (though she doesn't go to fellowship on a regular basis) and in the process of becoming athletic again. she dreams of being jeanne d' arc and swooping in and saving those that need saved (though she'd rather not be burned at the stake). she is a loyal friend who will do anything she can for those she loves, but she can flakey sometimes when her depression flares up. she is a loner. a southerner self-transplanted to the pacific northwest in 1998 and now believes that it doesn't rain enough here. she's known for her honesty, she can't help it, its the only way to be. she is 4'8" tall, and round. she has natural blonde hair and she also has blue eyes. she is very intense. she hates small and large crowds, she prefers the one on one or the one on a few. she has no idea what she wants to do with her life, though she would like to see more of the world than what she has seen so far (a good part of the continental united states) and she very much wants to be a mother. finally, she has huge crushes on alix olson and carolyn gage (these are from a far).

« better day. | Main | hurt. »

its so quiet in here.

its warm in eugene today. it got up around 60 and it was sunny. i've spent the vast majority of the day inside curled up on the couch, which is fine.

right now its really quiet in here, except for the hummm of the computer and the click of the keys. i don't have any lights on and 3 cats are curled up on the papasan, one is curled up on a pillow. i've got the window all the way open and a slight breeze is coming in, bringing in noises from the railroad track.

this is my evening.

i've thought about greece tonight. i've been so overwhelmed by requests for postcards and gifts. i'm not sure how to handle it. i'd like to just be able to send cards and get gifts for people that strike my heart. this trip is for me. last night on the phone with the doc and i didn't want to go. at least tonight i can say again that i want to go.

my cats are learning that when i get so low they need to stay away. the papasan helps. they can curl up together. i think 3 is the most it can handle comfortably. last night i discovered the boys in there together with ava. that was nice. boys together. tonight i heard on the news that reno, nv has a law against having more than 3 cats in a house. i'm glad i don't live there, and i only hope eugene doesn't have a law like it that i don't know about.

its thursday night. i watch tv. pbs and nightline from jasper texas. thats where byrd was dragged to death. its white vs black reflecting. i missed the movie. i might watch it or i might go for the more light hearted nbc line up friends-scrubs-will & grace-good morning miami. after "the hours" i should probably go for the comedys. i'm still trying to recover. depressing movie, bad news, brain cells revolting.. not a good thing.

so, i'll go enjoy the silence some more.

bye.

You do what you need to do in Greece. I think that it's a good idea to send postcards who want and then you pick out gifts for those you really want to buy for. This isn't a shopping trip for your friends.

Have fun!! :-)

Have a nice weekend :) Hugs

So very true... Silence can be so uplifting sometimes. Time taken for reflection is never wasted (at least not in my experience). BTW a book is a man's (or woman's) best friend.

Hey :) I used to read this a LOT, but then I lost the link through deleting my old site, etc. and now just found you again, via Faith's site! YAY! Glad to be reading you again!

Anyway, about your post:
i've been so overwhelmed by requests for postcards and gifts. i'm not sure how to handle it. i'd like to just be able to send cards and get gifts for people that strike my heart.

:( That's a bummer.

I wish the people of today would try and remember those handy little traditions passed down through the years, commonly known as manners.

Just do whatever you want to do in Greece! You know? I mean, even postcards and stamps can eat into your vacation budget.

Maybe just post a few photos and a "Greetings from Greece!" Postcard here on rivervision (or elsewhere, of course), and direct people there.

Or, maybe just buy a few postcards, they often come in a little book of 10-20, for less than 3 or 4 normal ones, and give them out when you return?

Eh, none of MY business to be sure, but I thought a few ideas couldn't hurt.

BB!
